Army Sgt. Brian Fountaine, 25, far left gets geared up for his second day at Vail Mountain relearning how to ski on sitskis. Sgt. Fountaine lost both his feet on June 8th, 2006 during his second tour of Iraq when the Humve he was commanding drove over a homemade bomb just north of Bagdad.

Army Sgt. Brian Fountaine, 25, rides up a lift at Vail with Adaptive Ski Instructor Mike Miltner. Sgt. Fountaine said relearning to ski with the Vail Veteran's Program has been the most challenging and the most rewarding program he has participated in since losing his feet.
